The Hargreaves family update

The family have moved to Sunny Perth and had their first Christmas in Australia.

They stayed on for a little longer after they finished filming the programme in April, to explore other areas that they wanted to see. They returned to the UK and after much soul searching and heated discussions, set everything in motion to make the move. The house went up for sale (much to Dianne's dismay as she saw the UK home as their forever home). 聽 聽They waited for Briar to finish her school year in the UK and spend the summer holidays with her friends.

Sadly during that time Steve's dad passed away, and it made them take stock and more determined to live life to the full and follow the dream that Steve had for so long.聽 So 5 months after they filmed, they were off to their new life. They arrived in Australia on 6th September, settling in Alkimos, and hit the ground聽running.聽 Steve got 6 weeks of temp work through an agency and Dianne applied for everything she saw in her field as well as sending out begging letters. It took 8 weeks for Dianne to secure a position but the job she has, she absolutely loves and doesn't mind the 1hr 20min round trip to drive there. Steve has since secured a permanent position too, with a marketing agency near the city, and enjoying the challenges that it brings.聽

Briar has settled into school, although she does miss her friends from the UK, and Peyton will be joining her as of February 2019. The kids are loving the outdoor life and being able to go the the beach whenever we feel like it. They feel really at home and are looking forward to setting down roots in Alkimos. 聽
