Scam Marshals
Scam Marshals is a National Trading Standards Scams Team initiative. Part of the 鈥楩riends Against Scams鈥� campaign, the initiative involves victims of scams around the UK volunteering to be 鈥楽cam Marshals鈥�. Scam Marshals are asked to share their experiences and take away the shame and loneliness of being scammed. We also ask Scam Marshals to share any scam mail they receive with National Trading Standards to be used as evidence in further investigative and enforcement work. Being Scams Marshals helps victims to empower and educate themselves so that they will no longer be susceptible to fraud and scams. It also empowers victims to play a role in the fight against scams. Scam Marshals shared over 8,800 pieces of mail with Scams Team officers in the last year.
