Janice Forsyth tunes into what's current in film, TV, arts, theatre and music across Scotland.
We’re talking all thing MERMAID with authors Kirsty Logan and Imogen Hermes Gowar. As well as a wealth of recent representations in fashion and literature, there are currently three live action remakes of The Little Mermaid in various stages of production. Just why have these aquatic mythical creatures become so en vogue?
The legendary Singer Songwriter Janis Ian will be in conversation with David Scott of the Pearlfishers. She’ll be talking about her most famous song ‘At Seventeen’ as well as her relationship with Nina Simone.
Claire Askew’s debut novel All the Hidden Truths is about a college shooting – in Edinburgh. She’ll be joining Janice to tell her about the genesis of the book.
We’ll be having an Edinburgh Festival Special Tuesday Review in which our critics Joyce McMillan, Kate Copstick and Neil Cooper look at the best the fest had to offer in terms of music, comedy and theatre.
