Johnson-Thompson is bidding to win a third major title of an already-memorable 2018 having taken Commonwealth and world indoor gold already this season.
Olympic bronze medallist Sophie Hitchon is in action in hammer qualifying, while fellow Rio 2016 bronze medallist Dina Asher-Smith begins the defence of her title in the 200m heats. And in a morning session loaded with talented British women, double European indoor champion Laura Muir hopes to comfortably progress through the 1500m heats.
