In this, the last episode of his ten part series 'They Write the Songs - The Broadway Edition!', Barry Manilow looks at three more extraordinary musicals. 'Mack and Mabel', 'Lady Be Good' and 'Anyone Can Whistle'. Written by Jerry Herman, the Gershwins and Stephen Sondheim respectively, each show produced some outstanding songs including 'I Won't Send Roses, 'Fascinating Rhythm' and ''Anyone Can Whistle'. Over this series Barry has featured thirty nine forgotten shows and eighty songs. Hopefully he says, the series will encourage people to seek out the complete scores of the shows - and who knows, perhaps to even stage a revival!
