Parquet Courts come to London, visit Maida Vale and play a live session for us - perfect. Wide Awake! is the band's new album and tunes from said album, will be played in the set tonight. It's their fifth record since forming eight years ago.

The album was written by Austin Brown and Andrew Savage, both of whom set out to introduce new musical ideas to their sound. Brown drew on Grace Jones, The Upsetters and Parliament for inspiration while Savage listened to a lot of 80s American punk by artists like Minutemen and Big Boys. The album was produced by Brian Burton aka Danger Mouse.

Parquet Courts are Austin Brown (vocals, guitar), Andrew Savage (vocals, guitar), Sean Yeaton (bass) and Max Savage (drums) from New York.

The new record follows the band's ballad-heavy 2016 album Human Performance.
