More controversy for a mixed housing estate in east Belfast - banners depicting IRA atrocities have been put on lampposts

Banners depicting IRA atrocities have been put on lampposts in a mixed housing estate in east Belfast. Please note this material has been edited since transmission.

Banners have been erected on lampposts in two mixed housing areas in Belfast commemorating IRA attacks during the Troubles. The banners in Cantrell Close and Global Crescent, which are off Ravenhill Avenue in south east Belfast, show incidents such as Bloody Friday and the Shankill bomb with the hash tag Stand Up Against Sectarianism.

Also, the fallout of the Irish referendum to repeal the 8th amendment on abortion continues. DUP leader Arlene Foster says she's received emails from nationalists and republicans saying they will vote for the DUP "because they believe that we're the only party that supports the unborn." In her first interview since Ireland's referendum on the issue, she told Sky News a lot of people were feeling "disenfranchised" by the result. So, will nationalists and republicans make the move to voting DUP - based on the issue of abortion alone?

Plus, the Renewable Heat Inquiry has heard more startling evidence today. The panel was told about a stand up row in a London restaurant involving an Executive minister and his advisor before a meeting at Whitehall. It involved the DUP minister Jonathan Bell. He fell out with his special advisor Timothy Cairns over percieved interference in his decision-making from other DUP figures

And, an Alliance Party councillor has hit out at council approval for a circus to be held on a council-owned park. John Blair, who sits on Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council, believes council should not have approved the Duffy's Circus to take place in Lough Shore Park in Jordanstown on an animal rights basis. A vote taken at council showed 23 voting for the approval of the circus to use council land and 13 against. The circus event will now go ahead on the site from this Wednesday.
