Ang茅lique Kidjo

Mark and Stuart chat to global pop star and three-time Grammy winner Angelique Kidjo about recording and re-imagining her own version of Talking Heads' 1980 album Remain In Light.

Mark and Stuart chat to global pop star and three-time Grammy winner Ang茅lique Kidjo about recording and re-imagining her own version of Talking Heads' landmark 1980 album 'Remain In Light'. Teaming up with producer Jeff Bhasker and collaborating with artists including Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend and Blood Orange's Davont茅 Hynes, Ang茅lique takes the album and adds explosive percussion, horn orchestrations, and select lyrics performed in languages from her home country of Benin. She premiered this project at New York's Carnegie Hall and Bonnaroo festival last year with David Byrne coming out the audience to sing with her during the Carnegie Hall performance. Over her career Ang茅lique has collaborated with artists including Alicia Keys, Bono, Carlos Santana and Peter Gabriel and The Guardian named her one of its 'most inspiring women in the world.'

Also on the show, there's the never-ending feature The Chain - which links together one record to another using YOUR suggestions - and Teatime Themetime, when you guess the link between three tracks over a cup of tea. AND if that weren't enough - we bring you the latest updates in the world of rock and pop in today's Music News.
