Crucial Father John Misty

The Don's selections cross time, space and genre and include Pure Comedy - a piece of Crucial Vinyl from Father John Misty.

The Don's selections cross time, space and genre. Each week, as well as blending his favourite new music with classics from the UK, USA, Jamaica, Africa and way beyond, he highlights a piece of Crucial Vinyl - a cherished album from his own collection. This week it's Pure Comedy, the third studio album by Josh Tillman under his pseudonym Father John Misty, which was released in 2017.

Don says, "Father John Misty caught the imagination of many last year with this record, which is a thing of great beauty, and I immediately knew it was a piece of Crucial Vinyl - for me anyway. It might have been his vocal delivery, the to-die-for melodies or lyrics that reflect his particular take on the complexities of the human condition. For me it was all that and more... and have you ever seen this brother live? A sight to behold - trust me.".
