David Yarrow

Edi stark talks to the wildlife photographer who at 20, was named Scottish photographer of the year for his globally syndicated photograph of Maradona holding aloft the World Cup.

He talks to Edi about growing up in Glasgow where the family business was Yarrow shipbuilding. Although at 20, he was named Scottish photographer of the year for his globally syndicated photograph of Diego Maradona triumphantly holding aloft the world cup, he chose banking as a more conventional career. The collapse of his marriage made him pick up the camera again to find solace in isolated, far flung places, dramatically capturing wild animals close up. His inventive approach, as he explains, involved wearing chicken fillets round his neck for The Wolf of Main Street, one of his most famous shots.
