Jimmy Iovine picks the Tracks of My Years

Jimmy Iovine, the American record producer who's worked with Patti Smith, Bruce Springsteen, John Lennon and U2 picks the Tracks of My Years. Plus there's more PopMaster.

Jimmy Iovine, the American record producer who's worked with Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, John Lennon, Stevie Nicks and U2 picks the Tracks of My Years with songs from Simple Minds and Tom Petty. He teamed with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers on 'Damn the Torpedoes' and U2 on 'Rattle and Hum'. He also produced 'Bella Donna' - the first solo album for Stevie Nicks, 'Making Movies' for Dire Straits, and 'Get Close' for The Pretenders. In 1989 Jimmy co-founded Interscope records with Ted Field and soon after he met Dr Dre. From there the record label released music from Eminem, Enrique Iglesias, Black Eyed Peas, Gwen Stefani and 50 Cent. Jimmy and Dr Dre also founded the hugely successful headphone and speaker brand 'Beats by Dr Dre' which they later sold to Apple in a multi-billion dollar deal. Jimmy and Dr Dre's lives are now the subject of a brand new docu-series on Netflix, 'The Defiant Ones', which follows both of their stories of growing up in Los Angeles and New York to becoming one of the most successful partnerships in music history.
