And, the video assistant referee - or VAR for short - debate rages on. The new system, which was trialled for the English game in the most recent round of FA Cup fixtures, has been blasted by managers, fans and pundits. Fleetwood Town boss Uwe Rosler said this week about VAR: "Don't complicate the game, the game is beautiful as it is. "He was speaking after history was made with a goal against his team awarded thanks to VAR in the FA Cup by Leicester. The system is used in rugby and other sports. But will VAR work for football?
