The Don's selections cross time, space and genre and his Crucial Vinyl

The Don's selections cross time, space and genre. Each week he blends his favourite new music with classics from the UK, USA, Jamaica, Africa and way beyond.

Don also highlights a piece of Crucial Vinyl - a cherished item from his own record collection. This week it's is the Stooges self-titled album, released in August 1969.

Don says, 'Unsurprisingly, on release, the Stooges' debut album was slated by the critics, many of whom, with hindsight, now acknowledge its crucial role in the forging of punk rock. As such, it was one of the few 'punk' records that I included in my bass-heavy reggae sets during my time as DJ at London's first punk club, The Roxy, back in 1977. '.
