Could robots replace musicians? This is just one of the questions Professor Danielle George joins Mark & Stuart to disucss, as they continue their 'Big Science' week. All week they chat to special guests from the worlds of science, technology and music. Today Danielle brings to the studio the 'Floppy Disk Orchestra', part of The Robot Orchestra - a collection of robot 'musicians' made from a mix of recycled old instruments, electronics and junk. A Professor of Radio Frequency Engineering at The University of Manchester, Danielle worked as a Radio Frequency Engineer at the famous Jodrell Bank Observatory and has been a speaker for TED.
