The Breakfast Show 10 October 2017
The Republic of Ireland are through to the World Cup play-offs after beating Wales.
It was an unforgettable night for Irish football and three Derry men were at the centre of it. What a night for James McClean, Shane Duffy and of course manager Martin O'Neill. James McClean struck a 57th-minute winner in Cardiff on Monday to ensure the Irish finished second in Group D, making it through to the November play-offs. It was a nail-biter so you can imagine the relief amongst fans afterwards:
A mother-of-two who was left badly burned after she tried to take own life, says people who are struggling with mental illness need to look for help before it's too late. Caroline Donaghy, who's 49, first remembers feeling extreme lows as a teenager but believes she was never properly treated for her depression. She was born in England but returned to her father's native Strabane with her family when her younger sister died from meningitis. Caroline says she is alive today because of her parents and the help and the support she has been given during her recovery. Just to warn you, if there are children with you or if you feel this is something that may upset you, it might be best to switch off for the next few minutes. Caroline has been telling her story to our reporter Teresa Craig:.
