成人快手 journalist and presenter James Naughtie talks about his new book photobook project 'Books That Changed History', which is billed as "a gloriously illustrated exploration of books as physical artefacts of cultural and historical importance. From the medieval Book of Hours to Mein Kampf there are books of great beauty and those that have earned their place in history for totally different reasons."

Books that Changed History explores more than 100 of the most celebrated, rare, and seminal written works ever produced. From intriguing ancient texts such as The Art of War , written on leaves of bamboo, to the stunningly illustrated Birds of America to Chairman Mao's 'Little Red Book' this book delves into the stories behind more than 100 of the most incredible tomes ever produced, offering an insight into their wider social and cultural context. Alongside breathtaking images of the books and manuscripts themselves, close-up views draw out interesting features, which are discussed in greater detail, while biographies provide details of the lives of the people who produced them. Ordered chronologically to demonstrate the synergies between the growth in human knowledge and culture and the book making process, Books That Changed History tells the story of each book, why it was written and why it is still considered groundbreaking.
