Seven months to save 拢70 million. The Nolan Show can reveal this morning that all five hospital trusts will hold public meetings next Thursday throughout Northern Ireland to reveal their plans to slash 拢70 million from hospital budgets. These meetings are being called "extraordinary meetings". You can go along to these meetings - they are public consultations - so we are giving you a heads up about them this morning. They will all take place next Thursday - the 24th - at exactly the same time - all at midday. In the Ulster Hospital, Knockbracken Healthcare Park, Craigavon Hospital, Antrim Area Hospital, and Altnagelvin Area Hospital. The withdrawal of 拢70 million of funding from healthcare could have a significant impact on your care. Stephen got reaction from the former head of the Health and Social Care Board John Compton, UUP MLA Roy Beggs, Alliance MLA Stephen Farry, GP Dr George O'Neill and Janice Smyth from the Royal College of Nursing.
Also on the programme, two landmark rulings on equal marriage in NI yesterday. A judge decided that social policy in Northern Ireland was a matter for the Assembly and not the courts. It was a day of deep disappointment for some after years of legal battles. So - it's back to the politicians. But can a deal be done? Stephen got the views of commentators Daithi McKay and Nelson McCausland.
