White House has rejected criticism of President Trump's response to the attack
on anti-racism protesters in the US state of Virginia. A woman was killed and
nineteen people were injured when a car was driven into a crowd in
Charlottesville. Dr Wes Bellamy is vice mayor of Charlottesville who led the
campaign to remove the Confederate monuments in the city.

August 14th 2006, James Ward was given a 10 month minimum prison sentence. 11
years later, he is still in prison. We first told his story a year ago. Since
then, his parole review has been delayed several times. In the last few weeks,
James' self-harming has escalated and he has been hospitalised. Nick Hardwick
is chair of the Parole Board for England and Wales and previously chief
inspector of Prisons.

British colonial rule in India came to an end and the country was partitioned
into two independent nation states. The result was the one of the largest mass
migrations ever recorded. Mihir Bose was born in Calcutta in 1947. He is a
journalist and author of From Midnight to Glorious Morning?: India Since
Independence and Ahmed Rashid was born in Pakistan in 1948. Ahmed is a journalist
and best-selling foreign policy author.
