This morning we're the envy of other parts of the UK and it's all down to that - hard cold cash. Somewhere in the Downing Street garden Theresa May found a magic money tree.
This morning we're the envy of other parts of the UK and it's all down to that - hard cold cash. Despite her denial that they even existed - somewhere in the back of the Downing Street garden Theresa May found a magic money tree. And yesterday under pressure from the DUP the prime minister gave it a shake and out fell a billion pounds. Arlene Foster, Nigel Dodds and Sir Jeffrey Donaldson didn't even try to hide their beaming smiles inside No 10... Mrs May on the other hand - well she looked a little bit uncomfortable. And is it any wonder. Already the Scots and the Welsh are calling this a bung and a bribe. And we've heard all those warnings that the new alliance between the DUP and the Conservatives could make a Stormont deal more difficult. And that clock is ticking. Thursday is the deadline. Is it good for Stormont, the DUP or just the Conservatives?
Chris Buckler got reaction from Sinn Fein's John O'Dowd, former DUP MLA Nelson McCausland, SNP MP Angus MacNeil, UUP's Doug Beattie, Alliance Party's Stephen Farry, commentator Malachi O'Doherty and Irish News journalist Allison Morris.
