Roy Noble talks to Celia Saywell from the Association of Wrens - the Women's Royal Naval Service - which was formed 100 years ago and only disbanded in the 1990s.

Classic tunes from the 30s, 40s , 50s and beyond. Roy chats to Celia Saywell of the Association of Wrens, who is taking part in a walk over nine days from Fishguard to Cardiff, as part of 'Wrens 100' - which is celebrating the centenary of the founding of The Wrens.
The Women's Royal Naval Service was formed in 1917 when manpower in the Royal Navy was so depleted because of the First World War that women were needed to do onshore jobs traditionally done by men.
By the end of the Second World War their contribution had been so outstanding that the service continued in peacetime. Wrens were only disbanded in the
1990s when women began to serve in the Royal Navy alongside men.
