Big talking points from the Nolan Live election debate last night
Some big statements from our two main political parties on Nolan Live last night.
Some big statements from our two main political parties on Nolan Live last night. First the DUP's Nelson McCausland admitted nobody knows if there will be a hard border with the Republic as a result of Brexit but said he didn't care as long as he's out of Europe. Then later Sinn Fein's Mairtin O Muilleoir said that after the next election he would be prepared to vote for a unionist party in the future. Vinny got the views of political commentators Alex Kane and Seamus Close.
Also on the programme, a listener has contacted the show to say their local GP has told its patients they will no longer be providing free prescriptions for minor conditions. The surgery in County Tyrone has displayed a sign saying that ailments that 'can be treated with over the counter medicines' that can be bought at a pharmacy will not be given on prescription. Does that seem fair? Should more GPs follow suit or should it be free to all? Vinny gets the thoughts of Patrick Mulholland from the trade union NIPSA and businessman Irwin Armstrong.
Plus, the latest waiting list figures have just been published this morning while we have been on air. The top line figures in the new statistics show that. Vinny got reaction from Janice Smyth from the Royal College of Nursing and SDLP's Colin McGrath.
