Guest Family
Families consider relocating down under. During a trial week in Perth, can nurse Melissa persuade her husband Chris to leave the home town he loves?
Ever since her best friend moved to Australia in 2009, Melissa Guest has dreamt of a new life down under. Currently working nights as a nurse while husband Chris works days selling cars, the couple are like passing ships in the night and rarely spend time together with their young daughter. Melissa's convinced their work-life balance would be better in Australia - all she needs to do now is persuade Chris it's the right move.
With a close-knit circle of friends and family on his doorstep, Chris has never wanted to live anywhere outside of Sutton Coldfield, never mind the other side of the world.
When the family spend a trial week in Perth, it proves Melissa right in her belief the country could give them more time together. But can Chris reconcile himself to the idea of leaving the place he is already proud to call home, or will Melissa be forced to give up her Australian dream once and for all?

Guest family update
When we last spoke with the Guests, while they have settled back into their busy UK lives, they are still very keen to make the move to Australia as soon as possible and are currently working towards doing just that.
They have looked into visas and Mel has already started a top up course for her nursing degree. The law has changed so her diploma is no longer a sufficient qualification for her to work as a nurse in Australia - she needs to get a degree.
Mel will complete her studies in May or June 2017, after which they鈥檙e hoping to begin the application process for a visa.
