Liam Logan is at the Ballywalter Ulster Scots Festival to hear from Mark Thompson about a new booklet featuring Ulster Scots writers from Ards and North Down. Staying in that airt there鈥檚 a special festival event in Donaghadee, which has piping to the fore from the Ulster-Scots Agency Juvenile Pipe Band, and the Red Hot Chilli Pipers. There鈥檚 a verse or two to mark national poetry day and this year鈥檚 theme of messages, and at the Jolly Rooks Festival there鈥檚 a performance of a poem in Ulster Scots written to mark the opening of the Hillsborough by-pass in 1974.聽
