Once the preserve of Buddhist monks and hippies on retreats, mindfulness seems to have gone mainstream these days. Gillian Russell asks what it can actually do for us? Buddhist monk Gelong Thubten from the Samye Ling community explains how useful mindfulness can be to relax both body and mind ... and how like physical fitness, we should try to incorporate it into our daily lives.
Team GB para-cyclist Karen Darke has been keeping an audio diary for us as she trains for Rio. While undoubtedly hoping for great things over there, we asked her what she actually thinks about success and how she personally goes about measuring it...
Measuring our own success (and that of others) is something we all do throughout our lives - exam results, having a good job, sporting achievement - but what is the point of it? With school exam results due out across Scotland this week, thousands of teenagers and parents will be considering their success - or otherwise - on that piece of paper.
