Director Baz Luhrmann tells Lauren Laverne about his hip-hop TV series The Get Down, which is set in 1970s New York.

Director Baz Luhrmann tells us about his latest musical TV series 'The Get Down'. The show is set in 70s New York as the city gives birth to hip hop, punk and disco. Baz enlisted Nas as musical director, and the show is brimming with music from Grandmaster Flash and DJ Kool Herc. We asked the acclaimed director of Romeo + Juliet, Moulin Rouge, Strictly Ballroom, and last year's adaptation of The Great Gatsby, how he brought to life such a vibrant, kaleidoscopic world.
