Film day with a review of Suicide Squad, plus Kelly MacDonald discusses her role in Swallows and Amazons

Janice is joined by critics Nigel Floyd and Pasquale Iannone, who review Suicide Squad, The Carer and the reissued Sid & Nancy, plus Kelly MacDonald discusses Swallows and Amazons.

It's film review day here on The Janice Forsyth Show and we will be discussing, Suicide Squad - one of the most highly anticipated blockbusters of 2016: for the first time ever, a team of villains and anti-heroes will be placed centre-stage in a superhero movie.

Film Critics, Nigel Floyd and Pasquale Iannone will share their thoughts on the film and on 'The Carer' - Brian Cox stars in this mannered comedy drama, as Sir Michael Gifford, a retired, gloriously grumpy, Shakespearean actor suffering from Parkinson's, who fulminates and fumes at his country manor until his latest carer, Dorottya (played by Coco Konig), a young girl from Budapest with acting ambitions, comes into his life.
They will also discuss the theatrical reissue of cult classic, Sid and Nancy - a vivid and shocking portrait of the tragic, mutually destructive, relationship between Sid Vicious and his American girlfriend Nancy Spungen.

Later in the show, the great Kelly MacDonald discusses her role in a new adaptation of Swallows and Amazons and we'll have music from Blossoms.

All that and, in an archive edition of Laughed off The Page, Comedy writing legends Ian La Frenais & Dick Clement tell Janice about their most successful sitcoms which include national favourites, The Likely Lads and Porridge.
