The cabaret of the word visits Brighton for a summer holiday, exploring with writer and tour guide David Bramwell and setting up shop in Bom Bane's cafe.
It's the last Verb of the season, so Ian's gone to Brighton for a summer holiday. We go exploring with writer and tour guide David Bramwell and we set up shop in Bom Bane's cafe, where the owner Jane Bom Bane treats us to some music as a selection of Brighton's finest writers and performers drop by.

The best-selling crime writer Peter James has just published ‘Love You Dead’, the twelfth novel in the Roy Grace series, set in the darker side of Brighton. Peter explains that heÌýwas inspired toÌýbecome a writer after reading Graham Greene’s classic ‘Brighton Rock’, and deciding that he wanted to try and write a book even ‘a tenth as good’

Jake Rodrigues performs as the ‘Have A Banana’ One Man Band. Undefeated by the rain, Jake takes Ian out to entertain the crowds on the streets of Brighton. Jake explains how the One Man Band tradition took off during the Industrial Revolution – and even lets Ian have a go on his Zob stick!
