A Memories and Conversations Special featuring a behind-the-scenes insight into the Whiskey Galore remake and a look at how outdoor activites can help people with dementia.

As part of 成人快手 Radio Scotland's Memories and Conversations - New Approaches to Dementia season, we bring you two special programmes.

At six thirty, Euan indulges in a bit of nostalgia. Ahead of its premiere at the Edinburgh International Film Festival on 26th June, we get a behind the scenes insight into the making of Whisky Galore. The original was filmed on Barra in the late 1940's and soon became a classic. This remake is filmed largely in Portsoy on the Moray Coast and Euan has exclusive access to cast and crew ahead of the much anticipated premiere.

After seven o'clock, Mark Stephen takes a look at how spending time in the outdoors can alleviate the symptoms of dementia and even delay the onset of the condition. We hear from dementia sufferers who enjoy being outdoors as well as one carer who finds solace in walking her dog to relieve the stress of looking after her father. Plus, a care home near Aberdeen where dementia patients are actively encouraged to be outdoors. And from across the Atlantic news of a nationwide programme called Bird Tales where bird song is used to evoke memory for people living with dementia with some startling results.
