Liz chats to cult Californian garage rock and power pop pioneers The Flamin' Groovies, who were most prominent in the late 60s/early 70s. They also tell how they helped The Ramones get a record deal.
As 6 Music celebrates the 40th anniversary of The Ramones debut album, Liz also plays out an interview she did with them on Radio 1 in 1988 in which they explain their love of The Sex Pistols, The Buzzcocks, and Motorhead, and how they were influenced them.
