Mum Julie has wanted to live in Australia ever since a fun holiday in her youth, and now believes the time is right to emigrate.

Mum Julie has dreamed of returning to Australia for good ever since a fun-filled trip to the country in her youth. Now married and with three children, she believes the time to emigrate to the country is finally right.

Originally against a move, dad Dan went along with his wife's idea, having become fed up working on wet and cold building sites. But with the family's visa now granted, Dan has developed a serious case of cold feet. He sees a move as an unnecessary risk and he is also worried about leaving his father behind in the UK.

Will a trial week spent in Perth see Dan won over by the country he has never visited?

Updates on The Rutland family

The Rutland family moved to Perth at the beginning of September and despite missing family in the UK are fully embracing their new life down under.

Dan has started work and Julie鈥檚 secured a university place to start a teaching degree in February 2016.

The children love their new school and Zac has joined the local surf and lifesaving club!
