An anti-extremism campaign has brought Yazidi Iraqi women to schools to talk about being captured by I.S. Baroness Nicholson, Founder of the Amar Foundation explains why she wants to help the women tell their story.

Earlier this year the poet and creative director Rupi Kaur shared an image on Instagram of a fully-clothed woman, lying with her back to the camera, who had a small menstrual stain on her trousers. Instagram removed the image, twice, saying it went against their guidelines. But it doesn’t. So why did they remove it? And why is menstruation still so taboo?

Compulsory Sex and Relationships Education

The Green MP Caroline Lucas has presented a cross-party bill to Parliament which would make the teaching of personal, social and health education (PSHE) compulsory in all schools in England and Wales. Jenni talks to her about why in this age of the internet she thinks the current situation is manifestly untenable.

Anti-Extremism

Saltley Academy, a school in Birmingham at the heart of the alleged ‘Trojan Horse’ plot is fighting the so-called Islamic State’s propaganda and radicalisation with a new campaign ‘Open Your Eyes’. The campaign was launched by anti-extremism charity  with the support of the . It aims to combat the radicalisation of young people by hosting talks from young Iraqi Yazidi women, who escaped sex slavery at the hands of the Islamic State Group. Baroness Nicholson, the Founder and Chairman of the Amar Foundation also joins Jenni to discuss how she managed to get the Yazidi women visas to come to Britain and why she is desperate to help them tell their story.

Distracting School Uniforms

A school in Stoke-on-Trent has banned skirts because they are ‘distracting’ to male teachers and pupils.  The head teacher says as girls ‘get older their skirts get shorter’.  Jessica Ringrose, UCL Professor in Gender and Education, Francis Gilbert, teacher, author and Guardian journalist, and Vic Goddard, head teacher of Education Essex’ Passmores academy, are in the studio.

Pig Farming

In 2002, Tracy Mackness was sentenced to 10 years in jail for plotting to smuggle £4 million pounds worth of drugs into the UK. But after leaving prison, Tracy turned her life around. Today she's a pig farmer, selling award winning sausages in shops and markets across the south of England. Reporter Leeanne Coyle went to meet her on her Essex farm.
