Poised to begin an adventure of her own, a young woman considers the story of her mother who - aged seven -began speaking spontaneously in a foreign language.
Julie Mayhew has written three plays for radio, including A Shoebox Of Snow which was nominated for Best Drama at the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Audio Drama Awards in 2012. Her first novel, Red Ink (2013), was nominated for the 2014 CILIP Carnegie Medal. Her second, The Big Lie, will be published in the summer of 2015. Julie is a founder and host of the short story cabaret, The Berko Speakeasy.
