Selections from around the globe, plus Crucial Vinyl from Ween

Don selections cross time, space and genre, plus his Crucial Vinyl is Chocolate and Cheese by Ween.

Don's selections cross time, space and genre and include new releases, alongside classics and overlooked gems from the UK, USA, Jamaica and beyond.

He also selects another piece of Crucial Vinyl from his album collection, features three key tracks from it, explains how it first came across it and why it means so much to him. This week it's Ween's fourth studio album 'Chocolate and Cheese', released in 1994.

Don says, "Now I'm not sure how I stumbled on this one, although the album cover, a rip on a 1982's Commodores sleeve, probably had a lot to do with.

Led by Dean and Gene Ween, this American experimental rock outfit from Pennsylvania took their sound to another level with this release. The album was their first attempt at 'proper' recording, as their previous three releases were d.i.y home four-track efforts. And, although it was a quantum leap sonically, it still retained their eclectic musical palette and the dark and crazy humour, for which they were known. Now the truth is they were widely unknown during their 28 year run, but they did have a huge cult following - including your truly.".
