Cremona Quartet
Ten years have passed since Angela Hewitt founded the Trasimeno Festival, a jewel in the cultural crown of the Umbrian town of Magione on the shores of Lake Trasimeno. She brings some of the event's atmosphere to Wigmore Hall with artists who have previously appeared at the festival. She partners fellow Canadian Gerald Finley in Michael Berkeley's Three Cabaret Songs, piquant settings of words by Ian McEwan first performed at the 2013 Festival, and showcases the talent of the young Canadian violinist Kerson Leong. The Cremona Quartet collaborate in Franck's intensely expressive Piano Quintet in F minor.
