Children鈥檚 care institutions in Bulgaria
Just a few years ago over 12,500 children in Bulgaria were in institutional care, one of the highest rates in Europe.聽Life for many was miserable. The programme 鈥淏ulgaria鈥檚 Abandoned Children鈥, broadcast by the 成人快手 in 2007, uncovered appalling care in one institution in particular.聽The outcry that followed prompted the government to change its approach to childcare. It aims to shut all children鈥檚 institutions before 2025.聽贰貌谤辫补 went to Bulgaria to see what progress has been made.
