There's a temptation,聽particularly around this time of year, for parents to聽fprk out large聽amounts of money on 'educational toys'.聽Anything that might boost their child's interest and ability in science, technology and engineering will be聽thrown into the cart. But is this really the best way to engage youngsters聽with science? Some new and familiar voices聽to the programme join Adam Walton to give their views.聽Chemist Dr Vera Thoss, biologist Dr Pippa Moore and聽Dr Mark Neal, a senior lecturer in robotics all get to聽try out for themselves some of the offerings in the shops. And child psychologist Dr Mair Edwards offers her views on聽how聽children - and their parents -聽make their toy choices.聽聽
