Episode 7
Music programme featuring performances from contemporary and classic artists. Acts include Robert Plant, Counting Crows, tUnE-yArDs, Gedeon Luke and the People and Years & Years.
Joining Jools in the studio this week is legendary English rock singer Robert Plant with his band the Sensational Space Shifters performing tracks from his latest album Lullaby and the Ceaseless Roar.
From Berkeley, California, Counting Crows return to the show for the first time since 1997, with tracks from their new album Somewhere under Wonderland, their first collection of original songs in six years.
From New England, tUnE-yArDs is the moniker of Oakland-based musician Merrill Garbus, whose live shows are a colourful extravaganza of costumes, dancing, ferocious percussion and strong rhythms. She performs a couple of tracks from her third album Nikki Nack.
Two acts making their TV debuts are Gedeon Luke and the People, who bring some old school Memphis soul to the studio with tracks from debut album Live Free and Love, and from London, hotly tipped electro-pop trio Years & Years.
Plus south London grime artist Stormzy.
