Christina Noble OBE is a campaigner and champion of children’s rights whose own deprived and traumatic childhood inspired her to set up a foundation to help street children in Vietnam and Mongolia. Christina grew up in poverty in the slums of Dublin in the 1950s. In 1991 she set up which to date has supported thousands of the poorest and most vulnerable children and their communities. Christina recently received Ìýand a new film, Noble, based on her extraordinary life story is due for release later in the year.

The Northern Ireland Assembly voted earlier this week in favour of making it a crime to pay for sex. It’s the first part of the UK to vote in favour of such a measure. However, some sex workers in Northern Ireland have warned the ban will do nothing to make them safer, and it could push sex workers further underground. Jenni is joined by the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ’s Northern Ireland political editor, Mark Devenport.

The image of Phan Thi Kim Phuc as a young girl, running naked and terrified down the road after a napalm attack, arms outstretched, screaming with her skin badly burnt became one of the iconic images of the Vietnam War. That one photograph did a huge amount to influence public attitude to the war. Kim almost died from her burns, but as she started to recover she then became a tool for communist propaganda to symbolise the barbarity of America. When she spoke to Martha Kearney in 2001, then 37 and recently defected to Canada, she recalled what happened to her during the attack.
