#Vinyl6Music - help create a virtual vinyl jukebox playlist
Tom Robinson invites listeners to create a playlist based on their favourite vinyl records to celebrate the rising sales of the format.
Tom Robinson invites listeners to help create a virtual jukebox featuring their favourite tracks on vinyl.
It follows news of vinyl's comeback with sales are likely to hit the one million mark by the end of the year - having already outsold last year's total with three months still to go.
Arctic Monkey's 'AM' tops the list with the most vinyl sales so far, followed by Jack White's 'Lazaretto', Oasis's first album 'Definitely Maybe' and then Royal Blood and Led Zeppelin's self-titled debuts.
Online music sites and bloggers have been reporting the news unveiled by the Entertainment Retailers Association (ERA), which also reveals that vinyl sales are at their highest since 1997 and have already sold four times as many as compared to 2008.
So for Now Playing's virtual vinyl jukebox, Tom Robinson invites listeners to send a photo of themselves with their favourite vinyl along with the name of the track the would like played and why - for a place in the vinyl celebration playlist.
Photos with suggestions are invited by Twitter via #Vinyl6Music, posting the 6 Music or Now Playing Facebook pages or via the nowplaying@bbc.co.uk email. Listeners can also drag tracks onto the show's collaborative Spotify or Rdio playlists, or send in suggestions via the show blog or the other usual live show contact methods.
