This second heat week sees five more celebrities enter the MasterChef kitchen as they undertake three tough culinary challenges in a bid to prove themselves to judge's John Torode and Gregg Wallace. Battling for the crown are actors Amanda Burton, Ken Morley and Emma Barton as well as TV presenter Alison Hammond and former JLS singer JB Gill.

The first challenge for the five hopefuls is the Mystery Box Test; the legendary test of imagination and creativity. They all have to use the box's ingredients to create their interpretation of a burger. With nerves running high and just 50 minutes to make their dish from scratch, the celebrities must think on their feet to impress the judges.

Next the celebrities are faced with their first challenge within a real restaurant setting, preparing dishes for paying customers during lunchtime service. The five celebrities are split in to two groups and sent to two different London kitchens.

The actors Amanda, Emma and Ken are sent to Spanish restaurant Iberica, while Alison and JB have to master the exacting standards of Marcus Wareing prot茅g茅 Chantelle Nicholson at The Gilbert Scott. The celebrities in both kitchens soon learn that the pressure of a restaurant in full service has to be experienced to be believed.

In the final test of culinary creativity, it's back to MasterChef headquarters as the contestants are asked to prepare a two course menu of their own design in just one hour and 15 minutes. The celebrities work furiously in a last attempt to prove themselves to the judges because at the end of this test one of them will be going home.
