Shereen El Feki - a Welsh-Egyptian raised in Canada - spent five years travelling the Arab world asking intimate questions of people for her book .ÌýShe spoke to disaffected wives, single mothers, sex workers, agony aunts, Koranic scholars, and infertility specialists, and believes that sexual attitudes and behaviours are intimately bound up in religion, tradition, culture, politics,Ìý and economics.Ìý She talks to Jane Garvey about her insight into the everyday lives of womenÌýin a part of the world that is changing in front of our very eyes.

Woman’s Hour has been examining the case for and against criminalising those who pay for sex. We have heard from the supporters of this proposed change in the law, and we have heard the opposing claim that this move won’t stop prostitution, but will make it more dangerous for those involved. We have also heard the voices of men who pay for sex. Today Jane Garvey will be joined by Fiona MacTaggart MP - Secretary for the All Party Parliamentary Group on Prostitution, who recently published their report on the need to clarify the laws on prostitution - and to Jean Urquhart MSP, who voted against the criminalisation of paying for sex when it was debated in the Scottish parliament last summer.

Sadly, Clarissa Dickson Wright has died at the age of 66. The outspoken trained barrister, and former alcoholic who turned her life around, wasÌýinternationally acclaimed as one of TV’s most famous chefs, as one half of culinary duo Two Fat Ladies.ÌýWe look back over her colourful life and work by talking to her friend, the Times food writer Lindsay Bareham, and to the creator of Two Fat Ladies, TV producer Patricia Llewellyn.
