Morning Call listener, Violet has been in touch with the show to highlight how hard it is to get an allotment plot in Glasgow. She is recently retired and wants to take up gardening and grow her own veg but didn't realise it would be so difficult. She's not alone with thousands of people facing waiting lists of up to 9 years for local authority allotments which has prompted the Green Party to call for 'right-to-grow' legislation to make better use of derelict land.
