Steve Lamacq replays the Pixies' special 6 Music: In Concert gig from earlier in 2013 with frontman Frank Black joining him for a chat about the band's history.
Steve recaps on the very special gig Pixies played as part of our inaugural 6Music: In Concert show, earlier this year. Black Francis joins Steve to chat about the history of the group, before we replay the band playing live in front of a tiny audience at the 成人快手's Maida Vale studio.
The band shaped the sound of Alternative Rock. Having sold just under 2 million albums worldwide, they are among rock music's greatest pioneers. Single-handedly spawning the grunge movement of the 1990s, their unique mix of punk, pop and surf rock inspired an entire generation of musicians, and embodied 90's alternative Rock.
