The man with one of the coolest names in the music biz first gained fame as the founder of US industrial rockers, Nine Inch Nails.
Reznor's since enjoyed acclaim as an award-winning film composer: together he and (the equally amazingly monikered) Atticus Ross have bagged an Oscar for the soundtrack to The Social Network as well as a Grammy for The Girl With A Dragon Tattoo.
The singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer is now gearing up for the release of the new Nine Inch Nails album, Hesitation Marks, out next month.
Just ahead of tonight's Now Playing @6Music show, listeners can hear Reznor himself talking to 6 Music's Matt Everitt about his musical influences and key tracks in his life, in a special First Time With...
Inspired by Reznor's musical story as told in his own words, it's then over to the audience to collaborate online and help Tom handpick the next two hours related to the musician's diverse music output.
This could include his film scores, Nine Inch Nails' back catalogue, side projects such as How To Destroy Angels or influences like David Bowie, The Cure and The Jesus and Mary Chain.
