Janice Forsyth takes a look at the touring production of War Horse and the television adaptation of Philippa Gregory's The White Queen.
In anticipation of the currently-touring ground-breaking theatre production of War Horse, four-legged star of the show, Joey, is in Edinburgh today along with actor and puppeteer, Finn Caldwell.
Its 200 years since one of the most significant Clearance events in Scottish history in north-east Sutherland and part of a disserted settlement is being excavated. Artist-in-residence Carolyn Lefley is responding to it to help returning diaspora on pilgrimage to find their roots, understand what life was like for their ancestors.
Since the launch of The Scottish Book Trust's short story campaign, "Treasures" back at the beginning of May, they have received a great number of entries already and we are delighted to be joined by one of the authors today, Gillian Monaghan along with the CEO of The Scottish Book Trust, Mark Lambert. Author Denise Mina tells the story of her relationship with her granny, Winnie, and the tea caddy they both loved.
Philippa Gregory's historical novel series, The Cousin's War has been adapted for 成人快手 One in a new ten part series, The White Queen. We will be joined by two of the main actors: Rebecca Ferguson who plays Elizabeth Woodville and Max Irons who is King Edward IV.
And- visions of the verdant landscapes and tea estates of Malaya in the 1950s- author Tan Twei Eng talks about his international bestseller, The Garden of Evening Mists, ahead of his appearance at this week's Borders Book Festival.
