Director Kevin MacDonald discusses documentaries and veteran journalist Neil Mackay talks about his controversial debut novel, which tells the story of two 11-year-old murderers.
Kevin MacDonald will be discussing documentaries and the Head of the Scottish Documentary Institute and producer, Sonja Henricki and reporter and Project Co ordinator at Screen Machine, Jonathan Melville explore the art form with Janice.
goNORTH festival takes place in Inverness this week and is not only showcasing some great up and coming bands from the north of Scotland, it also provides a brilliant opportunity for anyone interested in forging a career in the creative industries. Amanda Millen, Director of goNORTH Festival, is here to tell us more, along with broadcaster Vic Galloway.
Today is the start of The Royal National Institute of Blind People Scotland's fortnight of promotion of books for blind and partially-sighted people. The focus is on improving awareness of the fact that libraries do provide these accessible books, and to encourage them to extend their collections. This campaign, called Make a Noise in Libraries, is being marked in different ways across Scotland and here to tell us more are Ian Brown from RNIB and author Gordon Anthony, who lost his sight five years ago.
Neil Mackay, the Sunday Herald's Head of News, multi-award winning veteran journalist, writer, BAFTA nominated film-maker, radio broadcaster and playwright, who, during his twenty year career, reported during The Troubles in Northern Ireland and numerous crime stories, and who published a satirical non-fiction satire about the invasion of Iraq, talks about his debut novel, about two eleven year olds whose childhood games involve theft, arson, violence and eventually murder.
Lancashire based author Paul Wilson joins Janice to discuss his new novel, Mouse and the Cossacks, a story of two characters, Mouse - a young girl, and William Crosby - who now lives in a nursing home.
