Ruth Madoc on Playing Dorothy Squires
Dorothy Squires was one of Britain's most successful performers in the 1950s and 60s. Her electrifying on-stage presence, sell-out comeback concerts at the London Palladium and tempestuous marriage to Roger Moore, were often overshadowed by the law suits she brought. A new stage show, , is touring Wales starring Ruth Madoc. ÌýShe joins Jenni to discuss Dorothy’s rags to riches life-story from the Llanelli tinworks, to the heights of the West End and Broadway, before ending penniless back in the valleys of Wales.
Say It With Flowers runs at the Sherman Cymru, Cardiff until 25 May, before touring to Mold, Milford Haven and Llanelli.
