The Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie has undergone a double mastectomy to reduce her chances of getting breast cancer. She has written about it in an article entitled . We speak to , Professor of Cancer Genetics at Southampton University.

Yoko Ono 鈥 Music, Art and Activism at 80

Yoko Ono will always be known as the wife of John Lennon,听but before they met she was听an artist and musician in her own right. This year she turned 80 years old, yet she鈥檚 continued to be active in art, music, and activism since the sixties, and around her birthday she performed with her Plastic Ono Band and opened a retrospective of her art in Frankfurt. In recent years she鈥檚 collaborated with musicians like Lady Gaga, and her remixed work hit the top of the US dance charts. Now she鈥檚 curating the Meltdown music festival at London鈥檚 Southbank, which she says will celebrate 鈥渇eminism and the plight of women.鈥 She鈥檚 including 鈥渟trong women,鈥 such as Siouxsie Sioux, Peaches, Patti Smith, Marianne Faithfull,听and more, as well as art, activism, her own Plastic Ono Band, her son Sean, and the spirit of John himself, via a performance of Double Fantasy - the last album she created with him just before he died. met Yoko Ono to talk to her about her life and work, being so active still at 80, and forever being a Beatles wife.

Caring for relatives with dementia

There are听more than听600,000 people in the UK who are caring at home for a relative with dementia. But new research from 听has found that a third of those caring full-time receive no practical support. We discuss the challenges facing听carers and what support is available to them. We鈥檒l hear from Helena Herklots of Carers UK, George McNamara of the and from Judith, who is caring for her mother in the last stages of dementia.

Shami Chakrabarti CBE is the director of the country鈥檚 main civil rights pressure group, Liberty. She was also was one of six 鈥榓ssessors鈥 who guided the Leveson Inquiry, and helped to produce its report. Earlier this year she was named by Woman鈥檚 Hour as one of the 100 most powerful women in the UK. Shami tells Jane Garvey about her early life, her family and the people who have influenced and inspired her.
