Janice is joined by Gaelic singer Julie Fowlis and cultural commentator, broadcaster and writer Melvyn Bragg.
Scottish singer Julie Fowlis talks about Gaelic music and culture, and performs live. Cultural commentator and observer, broadcaster and writer, Melvyn Bragg, discusses his new novel 'Grace and Mary', which spans three generations of a family. We mark the centenary of Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring, exploring the furious reaction it caused, and it's legacy - with music writer Kate Molleson. Nijinksky was arguably the greatest dancer of the 20th century, and his pigeon toed choreography in The Rite of Spring shocked audiences. Biographer and Historian Lucy Moore joins Janice to discuss his phenomenal talent. 100 years on, award winning theatre maker Rob Drummond takes theatre, dance and live music to create his own ground breaking, experimental piece, The Riot of Spring. And we hear about another contemporary critical response to the masterpiece from Glasgow School of Art students.
