Suranne Jones

Suranne Jones first rose to prominence playing the role of Karen McDonald in Coronation Street.听 She鈥檚 since received critical acclaim for her role as a woman convicted of the murder of two police officers in Unforgiven, and is currently starring as DC Rachel Bailey in the hit ITV听crime drama , for which she鈥檚 received a Royal Television Society Award for Best Performance in a Drama.听听Suranne joins Jane to discuss her career and her latest role on the West End stage, playing Sandra, in Jonathan Harvey鈥檚 classic play .

Beautiful Thing runs at the Arts Theatre in London until听25 May, followed by a short UK tour visiting Liverpool, Leeds and Brighton.

What are the issues facing women who want to return to work after a break and what support and advice is available to them ? Jane is joined by Emma Stewart from the which has just launched a new online career advice service for women who find themselves locked out of work, and by听Alison, who struggled with returning to work after she had twins.

Hsiao-Hung Pai: Migrant sex workers

There are an estimated 80,000 sex workers in the UK a quarter of whom are migrants and the majority are women. Jane speaks to the investigative journalist Hsiao-Hung Pai who went undercover as a housekeeper in a number of brothels in the UK to unveil the reality of the British sex trade and the plight of migrant women who are trapped and controlled on the margins of society.听听
